Maury Blackman

President and CEO

Maury Blackman has led high-growth tech companies for more than 25 years. As CEO of Premise, Maury is passionate about the decision-making power that comes when highly engaged communities and leading-edge technology are combined. Under Maury’s leadership, Premise was recognized as one of Deloitte’s Fast 500 in 2020, and has grown into the world’s foremost crowdsourced insights solution.

 

Prior to Premise, Maury was CEO of Accela, a civic-tech start-up designing and delivering government software to improve efficiency and citizen engagement. In 2016, EY awarded him the prestigious Northern California’s Entrepreneur of the Year award for his work as Accela’s Chairman and CEO. Accela was sold to Berkshire Partners in 2017. Following graduation from the University of Houston, Maury served as a commissioned field artillery officer in the United States Army. He’s also an active investor, board member and advisor to many notable technology companies.

 

Over the past 15 years, Maury has participated in over 100 endurance events, including marathons, trail running, mountain biking, open water swims, cycling, and triathlons. His primary focus is Ironman distance triathlons (2.4m swim, 112m bike, 26.2 run), completing 11 full and 20+ half Ironman races.
