We are continuing our global workforce spotlight series (which includes our country support specialists (CSS’s) and country managers) with Majid from Herat, Afghanistan.
Our global workforce plays a huge role in our ability to manage hundreds of networks and thousands of Contributors across the globe. We asked Majid a few questions so that you can get to know them and their work with Premise. Here is what they had to say:
What is your background?
I am working on my Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Herat University.
How did you find Premise?
I am currently a senior student, and I was working on my thesis when one of my friends first told me about Premise. A big part of the challenges I faced with my thesis was the questionnaire research. So discovering Premise seemed like a really amazing and coincidental opportunity for me, and I began using the app often. I was so excited when Premise reached out to me inviting me to become part of this glorious incorporation as a Country Support Specialist.
What do you do for Premise?
I am responsible for user support, recruitment and engagement in Afghanistan. Also, I do a lot of app testing, translation and survey topic recommendation.
How long have you worked for Premise?
I recently joined this amazing team, so I have only been working formally with Premise for one month.
What has been your experience with Premise?
It is something I have never experienced before…being part of this multi-cultural family is really wonderful. It’s been a dream of mine ever since I was a kid. Premise encourages me to think deeply about research and the differences that it can make in communities all over the world.
What do you enjoy most about working for Premise?
I really support the idea of Premise; it allows so many organizations to recognize the most vulnerable places in need of help. It is very fulfilling to be part of such an ambitious team
What is your biggest challenge working as a CSS?
Being in touch regularly with so many different people from different backgrounds and levels of experience is always challenging to me, but I try my best to help them solve their problems and enjoy the app.
How do you work with team members that are in other countries?
We use Slack for text messages and Google Hangout for video calls.
What has been your proudest moment working for Premise?
I am proud of every second of working with such a beautiful team. Every day we do so many great things.
What have you learned while working at Premise?
To act respectful and be responsible for all of your works.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to go walking around and spending with friends while enjoying the beauty of nature. Also playing ProEvolutionSoccer game is one of my favorite hobbies!
What is an interesting or fun fact about yourself?
Though I worked very hard to earn the scores I’d need to enroll in Public Relations, but when I started my degree I admit sometimes I would escape from some classes… I still did well in all my classes though!
