David co-founded Premise in 2012. He has two decades of experience in capital markets, data infrastructure and startups, running the gamut from quant modeling to product design to corporate strategy. He serves on the advisory board of Columbia University’s Institute for Data Sciences, appointed by Columbia President Lee Bollinger, and is also a Venture Partner with Bowery Capital. In a past life, David was a rare books bibliographer in Minneapolis and a drummer in a punk band in New York. David holds a PhD (ABD) from Berkeley, where he was a Javits and Pritchett Fellow pursuing the study of social, economic and linguistic history of the Greek and Roman world. He also holds an undergraduate degree in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures from Columbia. He lives in Berkeley with his wife and three kids.

Greg brings over two decades of years of experience in helping technology companies scale, and building teams to drive product development, sales, strategy and business operations. Before joining Premise, Greg was an Executive in Residence at Index Ventures, helping the firm’s investors evaluate startup opportunities, and portfolio entrepreneurs build successful businesses. From 2009 until 2014, Greg served as Chief Operating Officer of The Climate Corporation (NYSE:MON), overseeing the company’s growth from a small startup of 19 people to its $1B acquisition in 2013 by Monsanto. Greg has also held senior leadership roles at eHarmony, Quinstreet, Proofpoint and VeriSign, where he helped pioneer web authentication and encryption. Greg holds a BA in Economics from Swarthmore College. He lives in Los Altos with his wife and two kids.

Joanna oversees all growth network operations and people operations for Premise. Joanna spent nine years at Facebook, holding a number of roles spanning operations, partnerships and business development, including launching Facebook’s India office and leading strategic mobile initiatives. She has also served as an entrepreneur-in-residence at Social Capital. Joanna holds a degree in Psychology from Harvard University. Joanna lives in San Francisco with her husband and daughter.

Gary oversees all engineering and data science teams at Premise, and is responsible for establishing the full technical vision across all disciplines including mobile and application development, machine learning, and data science. Before joining Premise, Gary led engineering for all FieldView Advisory products at The Climate Corporation, leading a team of 100 people. He’s also held numerous leadership roles at IAC/Citysearch, eHarmony, Intuit and Sprint Nextel. Gary holds a BS in Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MS in Systems Architecture from USC. He holds two patents.

Moorea oversees Premise’s large-scale, automated machine learning and data science models for product and business applications. Prior to joining Premise, she spent five years at The Climate Corporation leading critical data science research efforts including parametric crop insurance development, nutrient recommendation systems, and science strategy. Moorea holds BS and MS degrees in Applied Mathematics from the University of Colorado at Boulder and received her PhD in Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley. In her free time Moorea can be found hiking and running in the beautiful Bay Area, and digging into books about the history of science.

Tristan oversees the development of partnerships and strategic initiatives for Premise. He brings over 10 years of experience in business development, product management and partnerships focused on data-driven companies spanning agriculture, energy and retail. Most recently, Tristan worked at the The Climate Corporation, where he led the company’s international expansion, and business and product development for advisory products for farmers. Tristan holds a PhD from Université Pierre et Marie Curie and a BS from Ecole Polytechnique in France. He lives with his wife and three kids in Paris, where he takes advantage of the high-speed rail network to bring them hiking, skiing or sailing whenever possible.

Steve has spent the past 20 years improving the web for online transactions. From magazine subscriptions and e-commerce fraud to targeted mobile advertising and peer-to-peer gaming, Steve has embraced the challenges of connecting people over the web to make impactful transactions possible. Steve founded and sold two mobile companies, Frengo and AdMarvel, when mobile was redefining how businesses and consumers interact to deliver real-world value. His latest company processed over $1B in advertising transactions for publishers. He’s led product teams at large public companies, including Verisign (NASDAQ: VRSN) and Opera Software (OPERA: NO), as well as startups. Steve lives in San Francisco with his wife and three kids. He’s an avid trail runner in the Presidio, with a goal of completing 1,000 miles run in 2016.
