Design Trade Offs (Virtual Systems)

Visability is the issue provided by Diagnostician server. The Diagnostician allows the same knowledge base (automatically derived from CAD data) to be used with different test resources at different maintenance levels until complimentary resources achieve 100% diagnostics.

Virtual Diagnostic System Simulation

Simulation of complex systems is very useful for engineering analysis trade-offs, and design feed- back for complex systems. Usually simulators are limited to performance only and do not deal with system / subsystem level diagnostics. The Diagnostician which represents a true picture of fault propagation within a system hierarchy can provide the basis for a "Virtual System" (Software Diagnosticians networked to represent system level connectivity).

One can use the virtual system to evaluate anomalies in system performance by duplicating real failures in the land based virtual system.

In addition, Diagnosticians networked in a system environment can provide the inference engine for training systems.

R&D effort is continuing in this area. Joint projects welcomed.
