Giordano Automation Releases New Diagnostician DLL
Giordano Automation announces the release the Diagnostician structured as a library of functions. In the Windows/Windows 95 environment, the format used is a Dynamic Link Library (DLL). The new function library structure allows easy integration of Diagnostician functions into a wide variety of environments.
The Diagnostician is "Object Oriented," that is, the data and software needed to isolate faults are merged into objects called Diagnosticians. The transition to Object-Oriented programming for diagnostics will have dramatic impacts on the implementation of concurrent engineering for support using Giordano's Concurrent Engineering Tool Set. The same Diagnostician generated by the system engineer will be used as a "server" in embedded and off-line test environments.
The newly structured Diagnostician has already been hosted in a number of user environments:
- National Instruments' LabVIEW for Windows
- GeoTest's ATEasy
- Teradyne's L353 Test System
- Maintenance Simulator
- Interactive Unix
- Reconfiguration Manager
- Fluke Sigma Series Test Equipment
- Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals
Full documentation and a Programmer's Reference Guide are available.
Giordano Automation will continue to support and enhance its earlier Diagnostician software which has been implemented on a variety of user environments, including embedded maintenance computers on an advanced submarine system, micro-controllers for embedded diagnostics, existing LabVIEW applications and AIMSS Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals package.
